Dr Carina Buckley – Presenter at #ALDCon21
Association for Learning Development in Higher Education Conference 2021
Presenter: Dr Carina Buckley CeLP
Institution: Solent University
As the instructional design manager at Solent, I am responsible for leading on the design and development of blended and online learning through our VLE, to ensure that students feel part of a collaborative and supportive learning community which engages and stretches them. I also oversee our open access learning development website, Succeed@Solent, and advise on workshop and resource development to support student learning.
I have served as Co-Chair of ALDinHE since 2015, leading on strategy and supporting research and development and the annual conference. I also sit on the ICALLD steering group and enjoy exchanging updates with our international partners.
Out of work I write fiction – I have had half a dozen short plays performed locally and am working on two full-length plays as well as my first crime novel. I talk about writing on a weekly podcast with a couple of friends, I enjoy taking long country walks to think about what I will write next, and when possible, I’m a big fan of sitting in cafes watching out for my next characters.
