Hello from Macmillan International Higher Education! We are the higher education division of Macmillan Education. We develop books and learning resources for university-level students, from undergraduate to graduate, with a focus on the Social Sciences, Humanities, Business and the Sciences.

For more than 20 years, our Macmillan Study Skills portfolio of books and digital resources has helped support students in the transition to university and in developing the core academic skills required to succeed on their course and in future careers. Beyond core academic skills, we provide content which deals with topics such as employability and student wellbeing.

We have recently re-launched our digital platform Skills for Study. Based on the work of Stella Cottrell, author of The Study Skills Handbook, Skills for Study provides students with a personalised learning pathway, enabling them to identify their strengths and target areas for development in order to achieve better grades. Find out more by watching the short video.

We also offer referencing support via our online platform Cite Them Right. This interactive resource supports students in learning the fundamentals of referencing and avoiding plagiarism via a one-hour eLearning Tutorial and provides tools to actively engage students in creating accurate references. Offering support for referencing over 250 sources, including tattoos, sewing patterns and moodboards in addition to the more commonly used books, journals and webpages, Cite Them Right is a resource trusted by staff and students at institutions across the world.

We’re happy to provide sample copies of all of our textbooks, and free trials for our digital products – please explore our full portfolio at:

We are always interested in discussing ideas for new texts and digital resources to support students. Get in touch with Helen Caunce (Publisher for Study Skills) to share your ideas:
